The weekend youth retreat at The Don Bosco Youth Retreat Center was
attended by 39 youths from the Vietnamese Communities in Metuchen, NJ
and Bronx, NY. They are supported by 5 young adult helpers and
assisted by Sr. Mary Lan, SCC and Bro. Minh Dang, SDB. The director, Fr.
Vu Đức Tùng from Hoston, brings the Catholic faith alive to the youth
with inspirational praise and worship music in the context shinning in
faith, love and hope. The conclusion Mass with the presence of many
parents is filled with touching moments showing the ultimate love of God
through the joyful tears between parents and children, brothers to
sisters, and friends to friends. To celebrate the event, the parents
throw a party at St. James Hall to welcome the youth back from the
retreat. The reflections from the retreat will be posted on this web site in the

Following are the notes from the youth to Cha Tùng.
- You are inspirational, humorous and wonderful person. With similar up and down and you are as normal as we are! You taught me even if you do bad things in your younger years, you can still strive to become a priest and good virtuous person. I'll portray you as one of my role models for years to come.
